West Bengal: Simmering in Communal Tension & Political Anarchy

A particular community occupy 27% (the CM said 31%) of the population share of West Bengal. With this much number-strength, they have shown us trailers at Raniganj, Asansol, Murshidabad of what can be done by them if Hindus try to flaunt their socio-religious customs & celebrations. Seeing these mere trailers, we'll have to extrapolate what would be done when they reach the 40% mark. All these happened when the Ramnavami Procession was passing by a specific locality in Raniganj of West Burdwan district of West Bengal. The fire of communal violence spread in Asansol too. Hindu residences were vandalized, bombed repeatedly so that they had to come out on the open ground to feel safer. Children sat on roads with some 'muri' (puffed rice) on a plate. Such situations continued when the all-powerful CM of the State was touring out in Delhi to work out an alliance against BJP for the coming Loksabha Election. She was pursuing her dream of achieving the Prime Ministership of the country. Wasn't the infamous Roman Emperor, Nero, better than the current CM of WB?

And don't expect anything from the police force of WB because they can't do anything. How can they? Are they empowered with modern & strong weapons? No. The Police-Ministry, headed by the CM herself, perhaps doesn't even update the State armaments. Updating State police-force appears to be considered as unnecessary expenditure in our State. And trained police force, day in & day out, is being undermined & insulted by the appointment of a set of jokers called 'civic police'. These civic policemen are none other than local boys who are otherwise unemployed & are paid peanuts at the mercy & whims of the Police-cum-Chief Minister and hence are nothing but a set of sycophants to her.

Instead, armaments are being updated at the hooligans' den. WB is a safe heaven for manufacture, (remember Khagragarh?) storage & trafficking of illegal arms, weapons, bombs. But they are meant not for the police force but for the goons.

Hence, the fate of policemen, who would try to intercept these hooligans without the necessary infrastructure, would phenomenally be like that of Arindam Datta Chowdhury, Deputy Commissioner of Police of Asansol, who was severely injured by bombing of the rioters & lost his arm in Raniganj yesterday. However, could the policemen shoot even a single armed goon there who were bombing yesterday at Raniganj? Could they arrest even a single man? The answer is as you expect, a big 'NO'. The police is there only to chase with a 'lathi'. Unfortunately a mere 'lathi' can't really intercept bombing. The locals complained that the police came to no help of them. How could they? Neither did the police have proper equipments nor did they have the permission to take action against the rioters. Arindam Datta Chowdhury went to intervene on his own & hence got punished by the rioters. The State Government didn't permit anybody to visit the riot-hit area saying that the Government couldn't ensure safety of the visitors. They even inhibited the Governor. However, the Governor visited that place after a couple of days and reported inaction of the police force to tackle violence in his report too. However, it would be a highly relevant & pertinent question to ask, should the police have intervened without proper ammunitions like Arindam Datta Chowdhury? Or shall we, as conscious citizens of the State, demand state of the art infrastructure & competence revision programs for our police force on a regular basis? Should we not cry that we want proper police force in our State & not those good-for-nothing 'civic police'?

Moreover, those particular community goons appear to be specially protected by the police-minister & her special lobby. Who'll touch them at his own risk?

Reportedly 3 Hindus lost their lives at Raniganj namely Mahesh Mondal, Pratima Devi & another. Many Hindus of Asansol started to move away to a safer location. Amongst all these mishaps, the violence halted all on a sudden when an Imam came out and declared that in spite of losing his own son in the same violence, he would stand out & cry for peace there. It's after this Imam's appeal that the situation started to calm down in Raniganj, Asansol. Something stranger was discovered when some people tried to check & find out the name of the great Imam in the State Electoral Roll of West Bengal and didn't find his name in the State Voter List. After this news got viral in the social media, we found the photograph of the same Imam in the social media where he posed with his Aadhaar Card in hand. Can a father pose for a photograph after his son's death with his Aadhaar Card in hand? More such questions may be raised. However, since then, for around last 10 days, we, the common people of Bengal are unable to access the State Electoral Roll of West Bengal over the internet. It has been kept inaccessible even now as I am updating my blog on 5th April evening. I have personally raised my voice regarding this peculiar coincidence in the social media (both FB & Tweeter). May we doubt that the said Imam perhaps is not at all a citizen of India? What may be the cause of keeping the State Voter List out of reach of common men in a Panchayat Poll bound State? That too from since the Imam incident? What is the Government trying to hide? Given below please find the link of the State Electoral Roll. Please check & try if you can access the Voter List of WB.

I must also inform the reader who is patiently reading this blog as yet that a large section of academia & the intellectual mass of Bengal who often raises their voices in favour of the CM and earlier used to stand out for the Leftist Government, kept their mouth dumb-shut regarding the Raniganj violence till the Imam came into the frame. Once the Imam prayed for peace, the promotional poets & musicians of Bengal has started singing & writing verses praising the prophecy of the Imam communicating that it was he who brought back peace to the land of Bengal. The media too had marked this Imam as the true representative of Indian culture. However a few questions came to my mind which I tweeted unhesitatingly. Given below please find the links of my tweets in this regard.

The political condition of West Bengal is diabolical, atrocious! So much so that in the coming Panchayat Election to be held in the month of May, the CM has called for framing opposition-free Panchayats. And to ensure that, her party goons are running ruthless violence to stop other party candidates to file their nominations. Mamata's party goons have murdered Ajit Murmu who filed his nomination on behalf of BJP. They kicked a pregnant lady of Midnapore since she wanted to file her nomination for BJP. They hurt another opposition candidate of BJP with a sharp weapon in broad daylight in front of all at the BDO Office during filing nomination. This incident happened in Birbhum.

The only permanent solution to this deplorable helplessness is either keeping the State of West Bengal under President's Rule for a substantial period of time & mercilessly destroying the criminal base of the State or revamping the Arms Act of India to empower common men to protect themselves with personal arms. The age-old British Arms Act which later turned into Congress legacy, had restricted common men to keep & maintain arms for their own protection. Hence, the goons who cares a hang to abide by the law have strengthened themselves & doing a havoc with the lives of commoners. Moreover, the police force who are supposed to remain updated with all arms & ammunition to protect the common men are made defunct as a matter of dishonest & self-benefitting political strategy. Hence, it's difficult for the people of Bengal to have patience any more to look forward to having a proper governance in the State.

And the only other option for us remains to unite & stand up for a revolt against this complete anarchy & lawlessness.
