Movie Review: RAZAKAR
Razakar is a duly well-made movie based on historic facts. While there is nothing fictional in the movie, the presentation of various incidents is loud & hard-hitting just as South movies generally are.
Nizam's Army (Razakars) under the leadership of the radical Islamic bigot Qasim Rizvi, a pure monster, had rampaged on the ground to ravage the Hindu society from all angles— economic, social, political and last but not the least, religious. They engaged in bloody episodes of communal genocide in order to convert Hindus & grab their properties. The Razakars didn't spare those one or two Muslims too who resisted against their evil action-plan.
Post poll violence 2021 in West Bengal was a 21st century version of the same oppression.
The movie has shown different episodes of resistance against such Razakars by Hyderabad's common populace with their limited capacity & the resultant bloody devastation till Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel sent Indian Army to annex Hyderabad to Bharat ravaging the Razakars arresting Qasim Rizvi. The Nizam sent all his wealth to London before such annexation which too is a historic fact.
Within a low budget, the production of the movie has been quite good, spiced up with the familiar flavours of the South movies.
However the movie is a non-synchronous collage of incidents & it didn't portray all incidents in the correct sequence along the timeline. For example, after showing an incident of 1948, it has again gone back to another one of 1947 & so on. This could be avoided if all incidents of resistance against the Razakars could be composed in synchronous order of a single cinematic story. But that was not done. The movie-makers presented it as a collage of isolated incidents as the incidents truly were in reality.
In short, every Bharatiya must watch Razakar.
