Prime Minister came on inspection to assess damage caused by Cyclone Yaas in West Bengal on May 28 where, at the review meeting, Chief Minister of West Bengal along with West Bengal’s Chief Secretary remained absent keeping PM waiting for her. Before boycotting meeting with PM, West Bengal CM clearly communicated she won’t turn up if the review meeting’s invitee list was not revised. She perhaps had objection against presence of ‘the leader of the opposition’ there. In her description, ‘leader of the Opposition’, a Constitutionally recognized post, turned ‘a local MLA’. However, leader of the opposition & Nandigram MLA Shuvendu Adhikari was present there as per protocol & she didn’t turn up as declared. Why West Bengal CM behaved the way she behaved was no mystery. Why BJP & Ministers of GOI expected her to behave otherwise was. West Bengal CM is rendering all possible signals refusing to abide by rules and conventions of the Union of India. West Bengal Polity is observing Partition-time political dynamics again. Apart from ruling Trinamool Congress, there are Congress, LEFTs, the Muslims (in the name of Indian Secular Front), and there is BJP. Apart from geographical variance, difference between 1947's & present realm lies primarily in the nomenclature of the Islamic Party. In 1906, Islamists of Undivided India coalesced together in the name of Muslim League & demanded a part of the land exclusively for Muslims. In 2020, after 114 years of formation of Muslim League, Muslims of West Bengal have again notified about their separate political existence in the name of Indian Secular Front. For obvious reasons, they abstained from calling themselves Muslim League this time. Apart from difference in nomenclature, every other parameter appears same. লাদাখ সীমান্তে ভারতীয় সেনা মারা গেল কেন— জানতে চাইছে SFI. ভারতীয় সৈন্যের মৃত্যুতে SFI এর খুব দুঃখ হয়েছে কি? কম্যুনিস্টরা কি খুব সেনাদরদী? তাহলে সেনা মৃত্যু নিয়ে তারা হঠাৎ শোকগ্রস্ত কেন? কারণ আছে। তাদের শোক মৃত বীর সেনানীদের জন্য নয়। তাঁদের প্রতিরোধেই SFI'এর চীনে বাপ আরও খানিক সাপটে নিতে পারে নি, সেইজন্য। গালওয়ান উপত্যকায় ভারতীয় সেনা মারা গিয়েছে কারণ ভারতীয় সেনা চীনের আনঅফিসিয়াল জমি দখলের প্রক্রিয়াকে প্রতিরোধ করেছে। চীনের প্র্যাকটিস হল একটু একটু করে খুবলে নেওয়া। আনঅফিসিয়ালি। যুদ্ধ না করেই। LAC মধ্যবর্তী এরিয়া অফ ডিফারেন্ট পারসেপশনকে একটু একটু করে গ্রাস করে নিয়ে চীনের সীমান্তকে প্রসারিত করাই হল এতকালের চীনে পদ্ধতি। কিন্তু ২০১৪'র পর থেকে সেসব আর হচ্ছে না। ডোকলামেও হয় নি, গালওয়ানেও না। ভারতীয় সেনাবাহিনী চীনকে আমাদের সীমান্ত থেকে আরও একটু খুবলে নিতে দেয় নি। প্রতিরোধ করেছে। ২০ জন বীর নিজেদের প্রাণ দিয়েছে, কিন্তু চীনকে ভারতের আরও একটু জমি সাপটে নিতে দেয় নি। SFI এর আদতে রাগ সেখানে। সেনা মারা গেল কেন প্রশ্ন করার মধ্য দিয়ে তাদের আদত প্রশ্ন হল, ভারতীয় সেনা চীনকে...

ইঁদুরদের রাজত্বে একদল বাদামী ইঁদুর একদল ছাইরঙা ইঁদুরকে জাঁতাকলে বন্দী করে রেখেছিল। বহু বছর ধরে ছাইরঙা ইঁদুররা মুক্তির জন্য, জাঁতাকল থেকে বেরোনোর জন্য ছটফট করছিল, কিন্তু পারছিল না। বহু বছরের অক্লান্ত প্রয়াসে একদল প্রাজ্ঞ ছাইরঙা ইঁদুরের সহায়তায় একজন বিশিষ্ট ছাইরঙা ইঁদুরকে নেতা নির্বাচন করে ছাইরঙা ইঁদুররা একদিন জাঁতাকল থেকে বেরোনোর পথ বের করল। নির্বাচিত নেতা ছাইরঙা ইঁদুরদের জাঁতাকল থেকে বের করল ঠিকই, কিন্তু সে এবং প্রাজ্ঞ ছাইরঙা ইঁদুররা জানত যে বাদামী ইঁদুররা ছলে বলে কৌশলে ছাইরঙাদের আবার জাঁতাকলে পুরতে চাইবে। তাই জাঁতাকল থেকে বেরোলেই যে তাদের মুক্তি নিশ্চিত, তা নয়। নিশ্চিত মুক্তির জন্য বাদামী ইঁদুরদের যে পুরোপুরি পরাস্ত করতে হবে, ছাইরঙা প্রাজ্ঞরা তা বুঝত। জাঁতাকল থেকে বেরোনোর পর ছাইরঙাদের আনন্দ আর ধরে না। এত বছর পর তারা মুক্তির স্বাদ পেয়েছে। নেতাকে কাঁধে নিয়ে তারা অনেক নাচানাচি করল। জাঁতাকলের বাইরে তারা যেখানে খুশি খোলা ঘুরে বেড়াতে আরম্ভ করতে পারল। বাদামীদের এলাকাতেও এখন তারা বিনা বাধায় বিচরণ করতে পারে, যেখানে ইচ্ছা যেতেও পারে। ওদিকে বাদামী ইঁদুররা তাকে তাকে রয়েছে কবে, কোন্ ...

Public grievance is mounting against liquor sales ban. Certain areas of #WestBengal & Kolkata are black marketing liquor misusing this phase as an opportunity. WB Govt is being unnecessarily strict to enforce 'non-availability' of liquor & kept OFF SHOPS closed. Govt made it a point that no one can procure it normally. However, certain areas of Kolkata like one near Girish Park, is black marketing it. Many people doubt that unnecessary strictness in liquor-sale-ban from WB Govt is being imposed in order to facilitate black marketing. Please also note that a significant number of Liquor retails of WB belongs to minority community. Until recently, OFF SHOP licenses were not being issued to any one other than minorities. I mentioned it in one of my highly-read blogs. Thus the question arises if anyone is helping them earn more in this phase.
